Check Out This Great Payday Loan Advice - Best Stock Market ...

A lot of individuals often are wary when it comes to companies that ask for high interest rates when it comes to their loans. Cash advance loans come with a responsibility. You might find yourself making payments for years if you do not select a legitimate lending establishment. The following article will give you advice so you are well-protected when getting a payday loan.

Don?t simply hop in the car and drive over to the closest payday loan lender to acquire a bridge loan. It?s tempting to think you understand cash advances well, but many company have terms that very widely. You want to find the best terms for your situation. Investing only a little bit of time can help you save quite a bit of money.

You?ll need phone references for your payday loan. You will generally need to share your home phone number, cell number and your employer?s number. The vast majority of lenders ask for three personal references along with phone numbers.

Don?t overuse payday advances. Think about seeing a credit counselor to get your finances under control if you?re having financial problems. Payday and cash advance lending has driven many individuals towards bankruptcy. You will only be able to ensure this never happens to you if you stay away from these kind of loans in the first place.

Payday cash advances are usually quick. The downside of this convenience is the cost. If you can?t afford the high interest payments you should try talking to friends and family to see if you can work out a short term loan with them. You may find this better than the high interest rates associated with cash advance loans.

Investigate what the total cost of the loan will be. Payday lenders have notoriously high interest rates and excessive fees. However, this isn?t the only thing that providers can hit you with. They can also charge you with large fees for every single loan that is taken out. Reading the fine print and asking pertinent questions can help you become more knowledgeable about payday cash advances.

It is important to have verification of your identity and employment when applying for a payday loan. You must show this provider you are actually over 18 and you?re getting regular income if you want to have a chance at receiving a payday loan.

If you face hardships, give this information to your provider. Often payday loan providers will use debt collectors if you do not pay your loan back in time. If you cannot pay it back in time on the date it?s due, you need to contact them and talk about an extension.

If your friend wants to get a payday loan and put it in your name, don?t do it. It is important to help people you care about, but this can ruin anyone?s relationships.

Check to make sure your payday loan company is licensed to operate in your state. The rules and regulations regarding payday lending vary by state. Your lender has to be licensed to be able to operate in your home state.

If you?re applying for cash advances, try borrowing the smallest amount you can. Of course, these loans come in handy when emergencies arise. However, the amount of money you will be paying for interest is a lot higher than the interest on a credit card. Keep these rates low by taking out a small loan.

Do not take out multiple payday cash advances. Don?t go to more than one company to get cash advance loans. This will put you in a place where you won?t be able to get the money paid back, no matter what salary you?re making.

Only borrow what you?re positive you can repay down the road. Lenders often try to get you to accept more than you can afford, and this will cost you a lot of money.

Don?t borrow extra money, even if it is offered. Companies may offer you extra to pick up more money with fees and interest. Just borrow what you need and don?t embellish it.

A payday loan is a good solution in certain situations, but do not let this become a habit and always explore other options first. This information can help you when you need some quick cash.

Intel's Business Plan From 1968 - Business Insider

Intel is a global mega-corporation with $50+ billion in revenue, 100,000 employees, and a $100 billion market cap.

It has been a fixture of the tech industry for so long that it seems as though it has been here forever.

But in 1968, it was just an idea.

In 1968, Intel's two co-founders, Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore, quit Fairchild Semiconductor to start Intel. Before starting the company, they produced a rudimentary business plan. Pioneering venture capitalist Arthur Rock then used the plan to raise $2.5 million in convertible debt financing, and Intel was born.

The folks at Ideas Lab recently unearthed a page of the business plan, which Andreessen Horowitz partner Chris Dixon tweeted around a couple of days ago.

What did the business plan for the now-legendary massive corporation look like?

Not much.

In fact, if ever there was a document that illustrated that success is less about ideas than execution, this is it.

China's Controversial Brain Surgery To Cure Drug Addiction

kkleiner writes "A small handful of doctors in China are using a highly controversial procedure to rid people of drug addiction by destroying a part of patients' brains. The procedure involves drilling small holes into the skulls of patients and inserting long electrodes that destroy a part of the brain called the nucleus accumbens. This area, often referred to as the "pleasure center" of the brain, is the major nucleus of the brain's reward circuit. is it worth being cured of addiction if, losing the addiction, we also lose part of who we are? Is it worth being cured of addiction if, losing the addiction, we also lose part of who we are?" The practice has been officially banned, but apparently continues nonetheless.

World News: Russian Airliner Crash; India Mourns Rape Victim; Japan Rethinking Nuclear Ban

Kashmiri Sikh students protesting against the brutal gang-rape of a woman on a bus last week in New Delhi, shout slogans in Srinagar, India, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh pledged Thursday to take action to protect the nation's women while the young victim of a gang rape on a New Delhi bus was flown to Singapore for treatment of severe internal injuries. MOSCOW (AP) -- A passenger airliner careered off the runway at Russia's third-busiest airport and partly onto a highway while landing on Saturday, broke into pieces and caught fire, killing at least four people.
Officials said there were eight people aboard the Tu-204 belonging to Russian airline Red Wings that was flying back from the Czech Republic without passengers to its home at Vnukovo Airport.
Emergency officials said in a televised news conference that four people were killed and another four severely injured when the plane rolled off the runway into a snowy field and partly onto an adjacent highway, then disintegrated. No collisions with vehicles on the major, multilane highway were reported.
The plane's cockpit area was sheared off from the fuselage and the tail section partly torn away.
The crash occurred amid snow and winds gusting up to 15 meters a second (30 mph), but other details were not immediately known. A spokesman for Russia's top investigative agency, Vladimir Markin, said initial indications were that pilot error was the cause.
The state news agency RIA Novosti cited an unidentified official at the Russian Aviation Agency as saying another Red Wings Tu-204 had gone off the runway at the international airport in Novosibirsk in Siberia on Dec. 20. The agency said that incident, in which no one was injured, was due to the failure of the plane's engines to go into reverse upon landing and that its brake system malfunctioned.
On Friday, the Aviation Agency sent a directive to the Tupolev company's president calling for it to take urgent preventive measures.
The plane that crashed Saturday took off from Pardubice airport in the Czech Republic. Jan Anderlik, the director of the company that operates the airport, told Czech public television that the plane underwent a regular technical check before takeoff and no problems were discovered.
Prior to Saturday's crash, there had been no fatal accidents reported for Tu-204s, which entered commercial service in 1995. The plane is a twin-engine midrange jet with a capacity of about 210 passengers.
The Red Wings airline is one of the holdings of Russian billionaire Alexander Lebedev, who also owns the British newspapers The Independent and the Evening Standard.
Vnukovo, on the southern outskirts of Moscow, is one of the Russian capital's three international airports.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) -- Government officials say 21 tribal policemen believed to have been kidnapped by the Taliban have been found shot dead in northwest Pakistan.
Naveed Akbar Khan says officials found the bodies shortly after midnight on Sunday after being notified by one policeman who had escaped. Another policeman was also found seriously wounded.
Khan says the slain policemen were found in the Jabai area of Frontier Region Peshawar, part of Pakistan's troubled tribal region. Khan is a senior political official in the area.
The 23 policemen went missing before dawn Thursday when militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons attacked two posts in Frontier Region Peshawar. Two policemen were also killed in the attacks.

QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) -- A government official says a bomb has struck a pair of buses carrying Shiite Muslim pilgrims in southwest Pakistan, killing four people.
Zubair Ahmed said the attack Sunday in Baluchistan province's Mastung district wounded another 15 people, including three women. The bomb was strapped to a motorcycle and detonated by remote control. One bus was almost completely destroyed. The other was damaged.
Ahmed said the buses were coming from neighboring Iran, a majority Shiite country and popular destination for religious pilgrims.
Pakistan has experienced a spike in killings over the last year by radical Sunni Muslims targeting Shiites who they consider heretics. Many attacks have occurred in Baluchistan, believed to be a hiding place for senior Afghan Taliban commanders and also the site of a decades-long insurgency by nationalists.

NEW DELHI (AP) -- The body of a young woman who was gang-raped and brutally beaten on a moving bus in India's capital has been cremated.
Indian police have charged six men with murder in the Dec. 16 attack, which shocked the country and triggered protests for greater protection for women from sexual violence.
The murder charges were laid Saturday, hours after the woman died in a Singapore hospital, where she had been flown for treatment.
Her body was cremated in a private ceremony Sunday in New Delhi soon after its arrival from Singapore on a special Air-India flight.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, head of the ruling Congress party, were at the airport to receive the body and meet family members of the victim who had also arrived on the flight.

EL-ARISH, Egypt (AP) -- An Egyptian security official says that thousands of tons of building materials such as cement and steel are crossing into the Palestinian Gaza Strip, which had previously been under a strict blockade.
He said the move was made in consultation with Israeli officials, who were in Cairo Thursday to discuss security in the Sinai Peninsula and the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire signed by Gaza's Hamas rulers and Israel last month.
The Egyptian official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
The director of Gaza's border authority, Maher Abu Sabha, confirmed to The Associated Press that 20 trucks of material are expected to enter the coastal strip on Saturday through the Rafah crossing. Qatar is paying for the raw materials, which were bought in Egypt.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Venezuelan authorities say they have deported a man they describe as a French intelligence agent who was jailed for alleged involvement in a plot to assassinate President Hugo Chavez.
Prisons minister Iris Varela announced the expulsion of Frederic Laurent Bouquet in a Twitter message Saturday. Varela says Bouquet was arrested on June 18, 2009, and confessed that he came to Venezuela to assassinate Chavez. She says he was caught with weapons.
Varela has offered no other details on the case. It's unclear if the man was ever formally charged.

FUKUSHIMA DAI-ICHI NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, Japan (AP) -- Japan's newly installed prime minister has visited the tsunami-devastated Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant, site of the worst nuclear accident since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
Shinzo Abe's visit Saturday to the plant comes amid pledges from his ruling Liberal Democratic Party to review the country's plans to phase out nuclear power.
A massive earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011, swamped parts of the Fukushima plant, disabling backup systems and triggering radiation-spewing meltdowns that forced tens of thousands of people to flee. The disaster triggered massive protests against atomic energy.
The LDP regained power in elections this month and plans to spend 10 years studying the best energy mix for Japan. Abe has said he may reconsider the previous government's decision to stop building reactors.

Small-scale solar's big potential goes untapped

NIPTON, Calif. ? Gerald Freeman unlocks the gate to the small power plant and goes inside. Three rows of solar collectors, elevated on troughs that track the sun's arc like sunflowers, afford a glimpse of California's possible energy future.

This facility and a smaller version across the road produce some 70 kilowatts of electricity, about 80% of the power required by Nipton's 60 residents, its general store and motel.

Freeman, a Caltech-trained geologist and one-time gold mine owner, understood when he bought this former ghost town near the Nevada border that being off the grid didn't have to mean going without power.

PHOTOS: Solar power in Nipton, Calif.

He contracted with a Bay Area company to install solar arrays on two plots of land. The town has a 20-year agreement to buy its power at a below-market rate.

Projects like these make do with scant financing opportunities and little support from the federal government.

The Obama administration's solar-power initiative has fast-tracked large-scale plants, fueled by low-interest, government-guaranteed loans that cover up to 80% of construction costs. In all, the federal government has paid out more than $16 billion for renewable-energy projects.

Those large-scale projects are financially efficient for developers, but their size creates transmission inefficiencies and higher costs for ratepayers.

Smaller alternatives, from rooftop solar to small- and medium-sized plants, can do the opposite.

Collectively, modest-sized projects could provide an enormous electricity boost ? and do so for less cost to consumers and less environmental damage to the desert areas where most are located, say advocates of small-scale solar power.

Recent studies project that California could derive a substantial percentage of its energy needs from rooftop solar installations, whether on suburban homes or city roofs or atop big-box stores.

::

Janine Blaeloch, director of the nonprofit Western Lands Project, said smaller plants were never on the table when the federal solar policy was conceived early in President Obama's first term.

Utilities and solar developers wanted big plants, so that's what's sprouting in Western deserts, she said.

"There was a pivot point when they could have gone to the less-damaging alternative," Blaeloch said, referring to both federal officials and environmental groups that have supported large-scale solar projects.

"There's no question that it was a matter of choice, and it was the wrong choice."

Built in far-flung locations where there is plenty of open land, large-scale plants require utilities to put up extensive transmission lines to connect to the grid.

Utilities charge ratepayers for every dollar spent building transmission lines, for which the state of California guarantees utilities an annual return of 11% for 40 years.

By comparison, small-scale plants can be built near population centers and provide power directly to consumers, reducing the demand for electricity from the grid.

Rooftop solar goes one step further.

City Property for Sale Listed on City Website | Nebraska ...

December 28, 2012 ? (RealEstateRama) ? In an effort to make it easier for citizens to locate surplus City land available for sale, Mayor Chris Beutler today announced that a complete listing is available on the City website at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: surplus). The site includes a searchable database with aerial photos, addresses, parcel sizes and zoning.

?My administration has had a goal of making it easier for individuals to locate surplus City land and to facilitate the process of its purchase,? said Mayor Beutler. ?We want this land in private hands for two reasons ? to improve the chance the land will be brought to its highest and best use, and to ensure the land will be on the tax rolls, contributing to the revenues of the City, County, public schools and others.?

The city owns property from a variety of ways including purchase, by trade or gift and by tax sales. Not all land owned by the City has a current or projected civic purpose. Surplus property is available for purchase, trade, or lease; depending on the circumstance.

Inquiring individuals should find the process easier and more efficient with the help of the website listing. In the past, property records had to be searched and, when found, it was not clear how to start the potential purchase process. In addition, the surplus property process is being redrafted to ensure that the public has fair notice of the surplus status of property before the City agrees to its sale.

The City has identified 55 parcels ranging in size from one-tenth of an acre to about five acres thus far. There are common rectangular, ?buildable? lots as well as irregularly-shaped polygons.

Brenda Stokes Killed 10-Year-Old Jade Morris Before Attacking Co-Worker With Razor Blades: Police

LAS VEGAS -- Police suspect that a casino worker killed a 10-year-girl before going to a Las Vegas resort and allegedly slashing the face of a co-worker with razor blades.

The search for Jade Morris ended Friday afternoon when officials confirmed that it was her body that was found a day earlier in an undeveloped housing tract.

The Clark County coroner's office said she died of multiple stab wounds,

Jade was last seen Dec. 21 with family friend Brenda Stokes Wilson, who picked her up to go Christmas shopping.

Wilson, 50, returned the car she had borrowed for the outing to a friend two hours later. Jade never came back. Investigators later found blood on the driver's door and steering wheel of the 2007 Saab sedan.

Later that night, Wilson was wrestled to the ground with razors in each hand after allegedly slashing the face of a female co-worker at the Bellagio casino.

A judge raised her bail to $60,000 from $600,000 Friday morning after she was identified as the prime suspect in the child's killing.

"It's no secret the defendant is the suspect in the murder of 10-year-old Jade Morris," prosecutor Robert Daskas told Senior Clark County District Court Judge Joseph Bonaventure at the hearing.

Later Friday, Las Vegas police homicide Capt. Chris Jones said investigators were still moving forward.

"As soon as we get all the evidence in that we need, we'll book her on the murder charges," he said.

Wilson has been jailed since the 21st on felony battery with a weapon, burglary and mayhem charges that could get her decades in prison.

Police said she offered no help in the search for the missing girl. Murder and kidnapping charges could get her life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

On Thursday, Las Vegas police responding to a 911 call found a girl's body in unkempt brush near palm trees in a small traffic circle about 10 miles from the downtown Las Vegas outlet mall where Stokes was to have taken the girl shopping.

On Friday evening, Jones called the slaying "unfathomable."

"Even having our jobs, we still can't wrap our heads around this," he said. "A lot of people think that just because of our positions we can understand it, but we can't."

In court Friday morning, Wilson stood flanked by eight police officers as her lawyer, Tony Liker, clutching a Bible and a copy of the charging documents, asked the judge to postpone arraignment until Wednesday to give him time to meet with Wilson.

Wilson, who had been identified by police and prosecutors as Brenda Stokes, told the judge Friday that her full name was Brenda Stokes Wilson.

Jade's father, Philip Morris, was removed from court Wednesday by armed court officers after shouting questions about his daughter's whereabouts to Wilson. He did not attend Friday's hearing.

The two dated for several years, and Jade had a long and trusting relationship with Wilson, according to the girl's grandfather, Philip Tucker.

Tucker said Philip Morris lived in Billings, Mont., and worked at a Flying J truck stop for more than a year. He would stay with Wilson when he visited Las Vegas, Tucker said.

Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the slaying. But Tucker said Wilson appeared to believe that the face-slashing victim had become romantically involved with Philip Morris.

Wilson picked up Jade for their shopping expedition around 5 p.m. Later, she got a ride with a friend to the Bellagio. She allegedly attacked her co-worker, Joyce Rhone, at around 9:30 p.m.

Rhone, 44, was hospitalized with deep cuts on her face, including one from her ear to the edge of her mouth.

Wilson told investigators that she visited her doctor last week, seeking to be admitted to a hospital "due to feeling like she wanted to hurt someone."

Texas 'Hurricane Dome' In Edna To Serve As High School Gymnasium And Storm Shelter

EDNA, Texas (AP) ? Most of the time, the windowless building with the dome-shaped roof will be a typical high school gymnasium filled with cheering fans watching basketball and volleyball games.

But come hurricane season, the structure that resembles a miniature version of the famed Astrodome will double as a hurricane shelter, part of an ambitious storm-defense system that is taking shape along hundreds of miles of the Texas Gulf Coast.

Its brawny design ? including double-layer cinder-block walls reinforced by heavy duty steel bars and cement piers that plunge 30 feet into the ground ? should allow it to withstand winds up to 200 mph.

"There is nothing standard" about the building, said Bob Wells, superintendent of the Edna school district, as he stood inside the $2.5 million gym, which is set to be completed by March. "The only standard stuff is going to be the stuff we do inside."

The Edna dome is one of 28 such buildings planned to protect sick, elderly and special-needs residents who might be unable to evacuate ahead of a hurricane. First-responders and local leaders will also be able to take refuge in the domes, allowing them to begin recovery efforts faster after a storm has passed.

Storm-defense structures are getting increased attention in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which inflicted heavy damage on the East Coast in October. The city of New York, for instance, is considering a multi-billion-dollar system of sea barriers.

For Texas, a state always in danger during hurricane season, the domes offer the extra benefit of serving as recreation or community centers when not needed as shelters. They are being erected with help from the federal Emergency Management Agency.

"I think it's good for FEMA, and I think it's good for us. And I think it's good for the taxpayers," Wells said.

The gym in Edna, a town of 5,500 people about 100 miles southwest of Houston, is the second hurricane dome in Texas. The first was built in 2011 in Woodsboro, near Corpus Christi. Most of the domes will be around 20,000 square feet.

The plan calls for structures in 11 counties in the Rio Grande Valley, around Corpus Christi and along the coast from Victoria to Newton counties, said Tom Vinger, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

So far, $34.5 million has been awarded. This month, FEMA approved funds for a hurricane dome that will serve as a community center in Brownsville, one that will serve as a wellness center and physical rehabilitation facility in Bay City and two that will serve as multi-purpose training centers in Kingsville.

Inside the gym in Edna, Wells' voice echoed as he pointed to the ceiling, which has layers of sprayed-on concrete, insulation and rebar, all of which are under a heavy duty fabric that gives the structure its distinctive wind-resistant shape.

The doorways are covered by awnings of heavy gauge metal and supported by concrete girders that go 15 feet into the ground.

FEMA is paying for 75 percent of the dome structures, with local communities picking up the remaining cost.

The funding is part of the agency's initiative to help homeowners and communities build hardened shelters that provide protection from extreme weather.

Nationwide, more than $683 million has been awarded in 18 states, including Texas, Alabama, Michigan and South Carolina.

Walking around the gym, Wells said it reminded him of when, as a teenager, he first walked into the Astrodome after it opened in 1965 in Houston.

"It was like, 'Oh, wow, this is so cool,'" he said. "I'm still kind of in the 'oh, wow' stage with this."

Trying to halt hepatitis C's molecular hijacking

Dec. 27, 2012 ? Researchers at the University of Colorado School of Medicine have figured out intimate details of how the hepatitis C virus takes over an invaded cell, a breakthrough that could point to way for new treatments for the virus.

Hep C hijacks the machinery by which a cell makes proteins and uses it instead to create proteins for the virus. Over the last two decades, researchers have figured out that Hep C uses an RNA molecule to do this. Now they're trying to fill in the details.

One key detail is reported in a paper published online Dec. 23 in Nature Structural and Molecular Biology. It's written by Jeffrey Kieft, PhD, an associate professor at the CU medical school's Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics and an Early Career Scientist of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and his former graduate student, Megan Filbin, PhD, a graduate of the Program in Molecular Biology.

Working with researchers from the lab of Tamir Gonen at the Janelia Farm Research Campus of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Kieft used ultra high-power electron microscopes to take images of individual RNA molecules from Hep C as they interacted with the cell's machinery. The researchers combined those images with a variety of other experiments and these clues led them to identify a new way that the virus' RNAs takes over the cell's machinery.

Specifically, the researchers focused on how a ribosome, the cell's protein-making factory, can be manipulated by the Hep C RNA to affect a part of the protein process called translocation. And they saw something else -- that even very small changes in the interactions important for that hijacking process can be blocked.

"This points the way to developing drugs to fight hepatitis C in ways that current therapies do not," Kieft says.

Why Basic Insurance Is Not Enough | Estabrook & Chamberlain ...

Basic isn't enoughMany people think basic insurance is all they need.? The fact is, circumstances can quickly and? easily arise that can exhaust basic coverage limits and result in a significant financial impact.? One example of this is a real life case in which the 18 year old son of an insured was involved in an accident while driving a short distance to the store.? The car left the road, and struck a tree.? The teen?s girlfriend was traveling in the car and sustained significant injuries.? She was in the hospital for over a month.? Initially confined to a wheel chair, she was eventually able to walk with crutches and had to undergo lengthy physical therapy.
The driver of the car claimed he was cut off by another vehicle. However, since there were no witnesses and no physical evidence to support the driver?s claim, the insured?s auto policy had to cover the claim.? Luckily, the insured had a personal umbrella policy that provided additional coverage over and above their auto policy.? Without that added coverage, this tragedy could have had a much greater impact on the lives of all involved.? Personal umbrella policies can and do make a difference.? To learn more and find out how affordable they can be, talk to one of our representatives today.

Internet Market For The Savvy Business Owner - Jim McGilvary

If you are trying to raise the profile of your business online, you need to learn some essential internet marketing techniques. The best online marketing campaigns will enable you to communication with potential buyers using a variety of different methods. This article will help you explore the avenues that are open to you in the arena of Internet marketing, and how using some of these techniques will benefit you.

Choosing a good niche is key to having a successful Internet based business. You cannot sell any baseball cards to a person that desires the vintage Star Wars toys. Niche marketing is one of the most important aspects of Internet market; it?s essentially the path that all other marketing techniques will travel down. Therefore, know your market and your target audience. Be sure to have goods that meet their needs.

A great tip is to ensure your web page stands out. If your website stands out from the crowd, people are more likely to remember it and link to it. When you highlight any special offers, it provides you an easy way to accomplish this.

TIP! A great Internet marketing strategy is to offer your customers additional discounts if they spend over a certain amount of money. For example, you can offer your customers a 10 percent discount on all orders over $200.

Consider setting up a Paypal account for customers who prefer to pay in cash. It may seem acceptable to only accept credit cards, but it is smarter to allow people to use checking accounts and online systems like Paypal.

Within businesses, those who are authoritative in their fields are widely respected. Try letting people know the truth and that you?re the boss of your business. The first thing you want to do is name yourself as president or as the CEO of the business you?re running.

    Web Design

TIP! A website?s tag is one of its most important features. It tells the world who you are.

Invest some time in learning basic web design techniques and principles. There is a wealth of information on the Internet to help you learn CSS, HTML, and other web design specifics. Put in thirty minutes a day at least so you can improve your web page building skills.

Advertising is necessary to sell anything, whether online or not. It is worth the money in the long run because advertising your business will play a huge role in how much business you receive. It will expose your brand to customers that would otherwise not see it.

Have sections or a large hub for your products so that visitors can easily find them. It is important to incorporate variety while still maintaining a structured page format.

TIP! Stick to your plan when you are building a website. Determine what type of content you hope to include in your articles, then select the directories to which you will submit them.

Earn more subscribers to make bigger profits. Testing out different versions of your site can be achieved through split testing, where one page is served to half your audience and another to everyone else. You then decide which version is best by looking at how many people subscribed.

Use keywords that link to other areas on your site. Provide your consumers with links to other relevant site content in order to keep them on your site for a longer period of time. The proper use of internal links will keep customers on your pages and have search engines offering your site to other people making web queries.

    Press Releases

TIP! When advertising a deal or product include words that make them feel like they are getting a deal. Online shopping is done a lot of the time because people are sick of what their stores have.

Posting press releases are great ways to boost traffic for your Website marketing. Once you learn to write good press releases, you can find a number of places to have them published online. This can elevate the quality of your product and increase your visibility.

You need to be listed by Google in order to run a good Internet marketing campaign. Many people use Google each day to search, and it is very important you get your product and business front and center on the search rankings of Google. Being listed on Google will ensure that your company is successful.

    Customers Feel

TIP! Even if you hit a few bumps in the road when it comes to internet marketing, you must persevere. You may be a step or two away from successful internet marketing when you give up.

Offer your customers a way to make charitable donations by buying your products. You need to make a point to note this on your site so your customers feel they are contributing. It does not have to be a huge amount in order to yield positive results and make your customers feel good.

As stated within the first few sentences in this article, a great opportunity to open the lines of communication with your audience is by using solid Online marketing techniques. Pick from these powerful strategies and develop an Internet promotion plan that is right for you. Take advantage of the information is this article to improve your business.

A Small Business Marketing Plan Can Utilize Big Ideas ...

A Small Business Marketing Plan Can Utilize Big Ideas
Marketing is about making a name for your business and product or service. It is getting your name in front of as many people as possible without breaking the bank. The marketing strategies employed should be directly proportional to the anticipated rate of return. It is counterproductive to spend thousands of dollars for marketing activities that will only return hundreds of dollars in sales or services.

Marketing is the one activity that will be a constant in the business. It is like feeding the dog. As long as it is fed, it will grow and thrive. Once the food stops, the dog will wither away and be no more. A marketing plan for a small business will include an initial burst of advertising followed by several as many other advertising means as is economically practical. A combination of online and offline marketing will reach a broad range of potential customers. Not everyone has access to a computer or has an interest in having access to a computer. There is still a significant part of the consumer population that is not up to date technology wise. Let?s look at some online and offline marketing techniques for a small business. Keep in mind that not all marketing techniques are right for every business. Sometimes it takes a little fine tuning to make them work.

    1. The goal of the marketing efforts is to get the business and product in front of as much of the public as possible. Everyone gets their information from different sources and advertising on different mediums will achieve reaching a wider audience. Utilizing local radio, newspapers and direct mail will catch the local clientele and an optimized web page and perhaps a blog or newsletter will catch the local and not so local customers.

    2. An effective print tool is postcards. Almost everyone will read a postcard if the message is brief. With a few highlights about the business or product, a web address and other contact information, it will result in a number of leads. Postcards are economical to print and send but can be the source of a high rate of return. Even if the receiver does not have computer access, they might pass the card on to someone who does. A post card campaign a couple of times a year can be very effective.

    3. A pleasantly designed web page that is easy to navigate and contains helpful and interesting information is a must when marketing a small business. The cost of a web page is minimal compared to the rate of return it can bring. In today?s world, most people look for a web page before they will look up the business or product in the telephone book.

Insulation Innovation | Commercial Property Executive

    December 26, 2012

New Alternatives Promise Increased Thermal Performance in Less Space

    By Brad Berton, Contributing Writer

As building science innovators continue devising energy-saving products and methods in the ultimate pursuit of net-zero structures, commercial property executives and their advisors have to select from myriad alternatives for each new development and retrofit venture. And in a large, geologically diverse country like the United States featuring climates from cold and dry to hot and wet, thermal insulation technologies rank among the most logical sources of potential savings.

Indeed, as 2013 approaches, decision-makers considering insulation alternatives are adding some intriguing new-wave products and systems to their lists?including those based on micro-encapsulation of tiny particles boasting remarkable thermal protection properties. These technologies promise to boost thermal performance dramatically while reducing space devoted to insulation materials.

However, with going-in costs of innovative technologies predictably higher than those of traditional insulation materials, pioneering real estate entrepreneurs and their vendors are aiming to demonstrate longer-term viability of advanced technologies such as vacuum insulation panels (VIPs), silica aerogels and phase-change materials (PCMs). Their expectation is that these alternatives can cost-effectively cut energy consumption, especially at peak hours, in turn allowing for downsized HVAC systems. They are also seeking to provide other benefits, such as durability of performance; flexibility to accommodate various construction configurations and materials; adaptability to energy retrofits as well as new construction?not to mention product availability.

As is often the case as innovators transfer technologies to the commercial building sector, many of the new-wave insulation suppliers have initially targeted European markets for their products?and in some cases they have been used effectively in combination with one another as well as separately. If historic patterns hold, costs should continue downward with further product development, supplier consolidation and construction code adoption, making them more attractive to U.S. landlords, predicted Aditya Ranade, senior analyst with Lux Research.

Ranade, who heads Lux?s Sustainable Building Materials service, believes insightful applications of VIP technologies can offer particularly compelling economics to U.S. developers in the relatively short term. PCMs are already demonstrating effectiveness in properties subject to exceptional daytime heat followed by cool nights. While aerogel-based insulation products hold great long-term promise, however, costs will need to fall further before they see widespread adoption domestically.

    Vacuum Insulation Panels:
    Exceptional Performance

While VIPs at the prevailing development stage cannot boast quite the structural flexibility of aerogel-embedded insulation products, they can offer exceptional thermal performance at a more attractive cost. The latest products often offer R-40 (per inch of thickness) or better thermal protection, compared to just R-4 with many traditional mineral fiber insulation alternatives. As for the physical composition, modern building insulation VIPs? core glass microfiber matrix materials?most often fumed silica?are encapsulated within a vacuum-sealed enclosure envelope with metal (mostly aluminum or aluminized) skins.

Even though aerogels in certain applications boast superior thermal efficiency, Ranade sees VIPs filled with materials other than silica aerogels?such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam?as probably more promising in the near term in the U.S. commercial building sector.

Indeed, several VIP filler materials can now provide outstanding thermal performance improvements at costs factoring to the relatively short payback periods America?s commercial property executives prefer.
And as a VIP layer can be less than an inch thick, they help keep fa?ade and wall assemblies relatively thin. Not only does this characteristic minimize any intrusion on usable floor space, it also makes VIP use in many energy retrofits viable?even with wood-frame structures, under the right circumstances.

Primary suppliers here in the United States include Dow Corning, ThermoCor and Panasonic.
Some domestically available VIP products remain limited to relatively small panels that are attached individually to wall assemblies with adhesives. One issue is that under typical construction methods, larger panels risk puncture from nails affixing wallboard sheets, seriously degrading thermal performance at the panel edges.

But illustrating progress expected to migrate across the Atlantic, Ranade noted that some European innovators are providing prefabricated cavity-wall assemblies complete with VIP layers. While this alternative cannot match the flexibility of the latest thin aerogel insulation blankets, the far lower costs should make them more economically viable for the time being, Ranade observed.

Installed costs for the most expensive of these pre-assembled VIPs are in the range of roughly $5 to $7 per square foot?certainly not cheap, but with a generally manageable payback period of four years or less.

Durability is an area where VIPs are likely to improve, as it is logically preferable to maintain the initial high performance for decades longer than the 20 to 40 years associated with some of today?s offerings.

Another issue engineers have been striving to resolve is that VIPs can be vulnerable to puncture, deflating the vacuum. But even if the panel gets punctured and the vacuum is lost, Dow Corning estimates (though it does not yet offer a warranty) that its VIPs will typically still offer R-7 protection.

    Aerogels? Long-Term Promise
It is no surprise Ranade and other experts foresee considerable longer-term promise for aerogels, which are billed as the lightest and best insulating solid on Earth and have been used to encase equipment on Mars Explorers. While the new insulating products are flexible, the actual encapsulated aerogel materials are solids composed of particles (derived from gels; hence the name) that are 90 to 99 percent air. These materials, dubbed ?frozen smoke,? almost entirely nullify the primary methods of heat transfer: convection, conduction and radiation.

As some of the latest products from key suppliers are sold in insulation blankets rather than stiff panels, aerogels can offer flexibility advantages. And in many cases they are thinner than VIPs, allowing for practical commercial property retrofits through additional layers applied to wall exteriors or interiors.

However, prevailing economics generally make thicker walls insulated with less-expensive material more viable than the thinner aerogel-equipped alternative that can run to $10 per square foot, Ranade said. In fact, he thinks American developers may find aerogels more financially feasible with glazing applications rather than opaque building elements.
Aspen Aerogels and Cabot Corp., both based in Massachusetts, have been the most active developers of aerogel products for domestic building applications.

    Phase-Change Materials: Storing Energy

PCMs, which have proven dramatically effective in European office demonstrations, are more of an energy storage technology than a purely thermal barrier material. As CPE detailed last year, the trick behind PCMs is that their encapsulated solutions absorb heat as they liquefy at the desired daytime temperature, then release it when they solidify as temperatures cool at night.

The effect is that room temperatures remain relatively constant until all the PCM melts; only then does the A/C have to engage. As Ranade acknowledged, the financial impact is particularly beneficial where energy costs are higher during peak daytime use periods.

The Lux team feels PCMs today are best suited for climates seeing dramatic changes in temperatures over the course of each day?particularly areas experiencing hot days and cold nights, such as the U.S. Southwest. The math can certainly work in owners? and occupants? favor in these markets if peak loads can be reduced 40 or 45 percent, and nighttime heating costs by 60 or 70 percent, Ranade related.

Micronal PCM has also been embedded into plaster, ceiling tiles and aerated concrete. While wallboard and ceiling-tile applications seem the most logical, product developers are embedding PCM capsules into floor tiles, certain roofing materials, attic blankets, moulding?even carpet and paints.

Several American companies are active in developing PCM products targeting the commercial building sector. DuPont?s Energain line uses the PureTemp PCM product from Minnesota-based Entropy Solutions, as does active developer Phase Change Energy Solutions in its Bio-CPM line of insulation products. Fabral Architectural Systems in turn uses Bio-PCM in some of its wall and roof systems. And PCM Innovations, developer of the esBITS product line, continues demonstrating new applications within and beyond the building disciplines.

But PCM costs remain an issue generally, as does fire retardancy for the many products still made with paraffin wax, Ranade noted. Nor have traditional R-value measurement methods incorporated into construction codes kept pace with such variable-state technologies.

But he is confident that sharp American architects and their clients will adopt products that offer considerable energy savings. And that organizations like ASHRAE will remain on top of things in making recommendations for better incorporating such technologies into building codes, he said.

Things to look for in a SMS marketing provider | Slick Text Marketing ...

    SMS (Regulated) vs SMTP (un-regulated)

    ?

???????? Whats the difference between the two? In this short article we will discuss the differences between the two protocols.

    What is SMS/SMPP messaging?

SMPP stands for Short Message Peer-to-peer Protocol and was designed in the late 90?s for communication on a peer-to-peer scale, which contains just small messages of up to 160 characters.

SMPP is very similar to SMS. SMPP is mainly text communicating with text. SMS stands for Short Message Service, which means phone, web, or mobile communication systems, using standardized communications protocols that allow the exchange of short text messages between fixed line or cell phone. Its a fancy way of saying, I can text you from a software application or other program and it remains text and is received as text.

The true SMS protocol was developed by the telecommunications industry specifically for text messaging.?In contrast, the?SMTP protocol was never meant for that.

Messages sent through short code and the?SMPP protocol are regulated by the wireless carriers, all the necessary regulation is in place to be safe and spam proof. SMTP is not regulated by the wireless carriers or?Mobile Marketing Association?and does not have the regulation like short codes and SMPP do. The use of SMTP is a loophole in the carrier regulations.

    What is the SMTP messaging?

SMTP is way of transporting emails to cell phones in the mid 90?s to allow cellular users to receive directly to their phones in the form of text. SMTP is short for Simple Mail Transport Protocol.Still in use today by many companies. It is a slow, complicated and Un-Regulated way of communicating to your customers for marketing purposes.

Through each wireless provider, customers have been given the ability to receive emails via text through a unique email that includes the customers cell number.

    Example: 18479488574@Verizon.com

What this allows the sender to do is compose a message email to be sent and converted in SMS format so it can be read on the receiving end through a text message. For mobile marketing purposes this is highly against the laws and regulations set in place by the Mobile Marketing Association and Federal Communications Commission.

There are many reasons you should not trust or use services with this technology. Communications coming from SMTP source typically come from a long digit code of 7 numbers instead of a carrier approved and regulated short code, which consist of 5 to 6 digits.

It is necessary for any ethical bulk text provider to have registered for business use. 5 to 6 digit short codes are monitored and legally registered to use for marketing and communications. 7 digit codes being used for marketing and communication purposes for businesses and organizations are against regulations and federal laws. Not to mention receiving a message from an SMPT/email to text message can still charge a small percentage of customers a premium charge on their cellular monthly bill because it is considered data where text is not.

With SMS/SMPP your message begins as a text, is sent as a text and is received as a text. There is no email involved so messages do not get stuck in spam filters and messages are regulated to 160 characters at the most.

Example: You have Verizon and your friend has AT&T. You send him a text and it counts as 1 text on your monthly bill. If you have unlimited texting it wont have an effect at all.

Another big reason not to use long codes is that fact that any one can be added to the list and spammed. With short codes this cannot happen. Customers/contacts must add themselves as stated by the Mobile Marketing Association guidelines. This means your customers have to be 100% opt. in to your campaigns.? Your customers have to want to hear what you have to say. With long codes people can harvest your personal Verizon or other providers emails and spam messages straight to your phone and then you get charged a premium for the conversion of SMTP to SMS delivery. Not cool.

    ?

If your service is not SMS only then you should consider switching to an ethical up to par service provider such as SlickText.com.
